“I remember well my starting year at RWEST in 2001 – so many new impressions! Within my first weeks the shooting took place, I just had tried to ramp up what trading was about at RWEST and suddenly found myself on the front page and centerfold of the annual report (my wife acknowledged that I look “different” now ;)). Within RISK all reporting was about handling massive time-consuming spreadsheets instead of GloRi. The Endur setup was at the start and every problem took hours to be understood and discussed, all the UK business wasn’t fully integrated. In addition we had to manage one close-out after the other when overseas market participants left the German/European markets on the back of the Enron crisis. So back then we already had very busy days with ties in RWE style. Thus we invented the ‘Casual Friday’ (without tie only!). On top, my son was born in 2001 and he is now “my calendar” to refer how many years I’m happy at RWEST and Risk!”
