Donate a few cents of your monthly salary and help a good cause
Especially in the Advent season, the time of contemplation and small pleasures it is nice to give a little joy to others who need a little support. RWE Supply & Trading offers its employees in Essen the opportunity to do something good, not only during the Advent season, but all year round.
With the help of the Rest-cent kitty (in German: Rest-Cent-Kasse) RWEST offers the opportunity to donate the cent amounts on your monthly salary slip (maximum 99 cents per month) to a charitable institution. The principle of the Rest-cent kitty works in such a way that the cents amounts will be added up and subtracted from your monthly salary slip in one amount every six months and transferred to a separate account. The amount collected from all members of the Rest-cent kitty is then donated to a charitable institution twice a year. The members themselves can make suggestions as to which charity the money should be donated to. A final vote decides which charity will receive the donation.
To become a member of the Rest-cent kitty all you have to do is simply sending an e-mail to any of the Workers’ Council members or alternatively to the general Workers’ Council e-mail address:

You only have to write that you would like to join the Rest-cent kitty.
What many may not know is that the Rest-cent kitty has been in existence since 2012 and its members have already donated around 15,000 euros. But of course, the more members there are, the more money can be donated. By giving only a small amount of money a lot can be done for good causes.
