Remote Connected: Michaela Elschner
Working from Home in Time of Corona

Our team is really working well. We were always making heavy use of slack, but now we’re quickly trying out new tools and methods. For example, our first “online planning poker” really worked quite well. Sometimes it feels like we’re even talking to each other a bit more than before. Seems that even IT people have the need for socializing a bit.

 What is your biggest challenge?

Sometimes my NAS or my OneDrive start syncing things and rain my internet connection. But I’m monitoring this now. So the bigger challenge is: No Contangos! This really means a bit planning and cooking ahead – especially when you have to queue up just for entering supermarkets. And I didn’t get a “Parmesanlaib” yet.

What is it you are looking forward to most, once the situation has gone back to normal?

Having lunch with the colleagues – maybe some Shawarma or Sichuan food. We already had an online “bring your own drings” socializing session with the bigger team – but we also will celebrate our physically together!

Some personal words to the RWEST family?

These are definitely “interesting times” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/May_you_live_in_interesting_times). Let’s make the best of it: Let’s stay home. Let’s stay healthy. Let’s crush the corona curve – and keep the good RWEST revenue curve.
