The RWE Gas Midstream-Newspaper

Dear colleagues,

As we approach the end of our first year of operations, it is time to take a closer look at where we are and where we are going.

Creating, implementing and establishing a new company such as RWE Gas Midstream is no small feat. However, everyone has been exceptionally well focused on the tasks at hand. And it shows!

We are growing, both in volume and in size. We have hired 70 new employees and are integrating staff from different locations and backgrounds.

The market is starting to notice us – the gas face of the RWE group – and what we are doing. We are getting better and we are finding more opportunities than we thought, or as a
colleague said: “It’s like being a kid in a candy store”. Not everything is at “best in class” level, but we are getting there and we are getting there fast.

In recent weeks we have published information about projects such as the Adria LNG project and our co-operation with Excelerate and NWO for a LNG port in Wilhelmshaven. You
have most likely also heard of our possible participation in the Nabucco pipeline, a project we are continuing to work on. We have booked storage in Europe, have renewed and restructured contracts, are managing the gas portfolio for the power stations etc. etc.

In other words, we have done a lot and achieved a lot in the last 10 months. I hope there will be more to talk about at our first Gas Midstream Christmas party on the 7th of December,
including the first results of the employee survey in which I, in the name of the entire board, kindly ask and urge you to participate. I look forward to seeing you all there and celebrating the first year of our success story with you.
